When i saw the label of this wine and i read this italian word ” il briccone ” , which means ” a rascal guy “, i though the producer was an italian who built up a winery in Australia . Instead they select the name because of its ” rascal ” behavior , due to the taste of the wine which you feel alive and active as if it was an adult man but still ….. young inside ! The grapes used are Shiraz and Sangiovese .
Name : Il briccone
Vintage : 2006
Area : Mclaren Vale
Alcohol content : 14,5 %
The color is ruby red , with the brick color’s reflections , clear and consistent .The nose is quite intense , cherry and a hint of vanilla which seems ished , scents of black pepper , spicy notes really intense , and still this mint note flying in the glass . The mouth is dry , soft , warm , the tannin comes inside , get dry your tongue and goes out quietly without attack the ” micro climate ” in the mouth . full body wine , balanced and also harmonic. But , maybe , having a cork cap , the aging would be better and the evolution more complex…. But 2006 was ok and i think even now .
